MANILA — After three months off air, the family drama "Love Thy Woman" resumed Monday with the climactic confession of a long-kept secret involving the lives of warring sisters Jia (Kim Chiu) and Dana (Yam Concepcion).

"Love Thy Woman" was among the ongoing ABS-CBN programs that halted production amid the coronavirus pandemic in mid-March.

With the government closure of ABS-CBN in May, the series' June 15 return was instead via cable and satellite TV on Kapamilya Channel.

Fittingly, its first new episode in months — which was filmed prior to the coronavirus lockdown — was brimming with revelations about Michael (JJ Quilantang), Dana's adopted son.

Overwhelmed with guilt, Harry (David Chua) finally told the truth to Adam (Christopher de Leon), that Jia is the biological mother of Michael.

Unknown to Jia, Harry sold the baby to Lucy (Eula Valdes) five years ago out of desperation. At the time, Jia had been in critical condition due to cancer, and the newborn, too, was unhealthy.

For P5 million, Harry also agreed to keep secret Lucy's plans, which all fell through. Michael was left outside Dana's home — an answered prayer after a road crash prevented her from bearing a child of her own.

Lucy believed the baby was the key to saving her daughter's marriage with David (Xian Lim), but the elaborate effort proved futile. Dana and David's love for Michael couldn't stop the latter from seeking the annulment of their marriage.

Harry then confessed to Kai (Sunshine Cruz), his sister and also Jia's mother. Fearing the truth would affect Jia's health, a furious Kai told Harry to keep it to themselves for now.

For the last five years, Jia has been grieving Jianyu, her baby whom Harry said died in a fire. Dana, too, has been clueless that Michael is the biological child of the woman she hated most.

Adam, meanwhile, was adamant to know for certain which between his daughters is the real mother of Michael. Upon his wife Lucy's denial of Harry's accusations, Adam decided a DNA test would once and for all settle any doubt.

"Love Thy Woman" is one of three ABS-CBN scripted dramas that have resumed production — under strict safety protocols — after the eased community quarantine, along with "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano" and "A Soldier's Heart."

De Leon, who plays Adam, a lead character, had tested positive for COVID-19 in March, prompting the series' cast and crew to undergo self-quarantine. De Leon, 63, has since recovered, and in April tested negative for the disease.

"Love Thy Woman" airs weekdays, 2:30 p.m., on Kapamilya Channel.
