A former manager at K-pop company YG Entertainment swindled a billion won (or over P41 million) from Lisa of the girl group Blackpink, a Korean entertainment news site reported Tuesday.

A Korean news outlet earlier reported that the manager, identified only as "A," exploited connections and received money from Lisa, pretending to help the 23-year-old Thai performer look into real estate, according to the Soompi story.

Lisa, whose real name is Lalisa Manoban, reportedly lost all her money when the manager spent it on gambling.

YG Entertainment later confirmed the news story and apologized for the incident, according to Soompi, which published the company's statement.

The company reportedly said Lisa agreed to settle since the former manager was someone she had trusted.

The manager has reimbursed part of the sum and left YG Entertainment after agreeing to pay the remaining amount, said the Soompi report.

Lisa debuted in August 2016 as one of the 4 members of Blackpink, becoming the first non-Korean to debut under YG Entertainment, which also launched K-pop powerhouses 2NE1 and Big Bang.

The group is scheduled to drop a single this June, ahead of the release of their first Korean full-length album in September.
