MANILA - Actress Danita Paner said she is open to working with former boyfriend, actor JC de Vera, even if they haven't had a decent conversation since their split back in 2012.

"Oo naman, we have to be professional," the 27-year-old Paner said in a joint interview with actor Joseph Marco on "Tonight with Boy Abunda."

Paner and Marco will topbill an episode of legal drama "Ipaglaban Mo" set to be aired on Saturday.

"And si JC, napaka-galing umarte iyon. First teleserye ko was with JC, so madami din akong natutunan sa kanya," she added.

Paner and De Vera first confirmed their break-up back in January 2012. The two said the decision was "mutual" and was borne out of a "crisis" within the relationship. The two also denied any involvement of a third party.

Speaking with host Boy Abunda on Friday, Paner claimed that she remained "friends" with De Vera. "Friends kami sa Facebook, sa Instagram," she quipped.

Asked if she had a bad break-up with De Vera, Paner replied: "No, no,no. Kinalimutan ko na eh. Hindi ko na maalala iyong feeling. Pero okay naman, it's been five years."

According to Paner, the best thing about being single is the freedom to do whatever you want.

"Puwede kang mag-travel, puwede kang mag-adventure, wala kang iniisip. Sarili mo lang. Tapos pag nahanap mo na iyong partner mo --sana-- buo ko na, marami kang masha-share."
