"Ang Probinsyano" star Coco Martin joined congressional hopeful Edu Manzano in his political party's miting de avance in San Juan on Saturday, the last day of campaigning for the 2019 midterm elections.

Martin serenaded the enthusiastic crowd with three songs, according to entertainment website Pep.ph

Manzano portrayed President Lucas Cabrera opposite Martin in the hit teleserye.

"Sa totoong buhay, sobrang mahal ko ang taong ito kasi po, sa aming industriya, nirerespeto at minamahal po si Edu Manzano kaya nandito po ako para sumuporta sa kanya," Martin was quoted as saying.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) second division earlier said it has disqualified Manzano from running for congressman due to questions about his citizenship.
