MANILA -- In an Instagram post last October, Denise Laurel announced that she and her fiance, basketball player Sol Mercado, have decided to call off their engagement.

They had been engaged since 2013.

Seven months after, Laurel is once again taking to Instagram another revelation. In a lengthy post, the 29-year-old actress expressed how grateful she is to God for enabling her to meet Mercado.

"I'm thankful God brought us you and wrote us into your story. I'm blessed to feel HIS love and HIS beauty unfold through your heart. I pray u never forget that everything that happens in your life was carefully and lovingly crafted by God just for you," Laurel wrote.

She also greeted Mercado a happy birthday. He turned 33 on May 6.

"Happy Born day my love. Praying and looking forward to embracing more chapters with you in His time," Laurel added.

Last October, Laurel said that she would only be nothing more than a "friend" to Mercado. She also denied speculations that the PBA star was cheating with another woman.

Last March, Mercado posted a family photo with Laurel.
