MANILA – Angelica Panganiban took to Instagram to express how proud she is of Ateneo de Manila University superstar Alyssa Valdez, whose team lost to De La Salle University in the UAAP Season 78 women's volleyball Finals on Saturday.

In her personal page, Panganiban shared a photo of Valdez on the court while enumerating the volleyball player’s achievements.

In the caption, Panganiban wrote: "Jersey #2 signing off. lagi mong tandaan neng, mahal ka ni miss mace.”

Mace is the name of Panganiban’s character in “That Thing Called Tadhana.”

Panganiban has made no secret of her admiration for the Lady Eagles, especially for Valdez. In fact, she managed to watch some of their games live despite her hectic showbiz schedule.

In a previous interview, Panganiban explained that she grew to love the Lady Eagles since she lived near Katipunan, and felt that it was a humbling experience to cheer for them.

Valdez, the three-time Most Valuable Player, ended her UAAP volleyball career on Saturday with a loss to their arch-rivals.
