Being the son of Arnel Pineda, it seems only right that Angelo Pineda would go on to try and make a name for himself as a singer.

But perhaps Angelo was a tad worried about the expectations that will come with being attached to such a name — Arnel is, of course, the current front man of the legendary rock band Journey — so he decided to withhold that information from the judges of "Idol Philippines."

He did not reveal his lineage until after he was done with his audition, which he nearly failed because, as pointed out by judge Vice Ganda, his decision to sing Bryan Adams' "Heaven" was questionable.

Describing it as a relatively simple song that did not allow Angelo's voice to stand out from the competition, Vice Ganda gave him 10 seconds to try and win him over. Angelo's insistence, however, of singing "Heaven" again did not sit well with the comedian, who stuck with his earlier verdict of saying no to him.

But luckily for Angelo, the other three judges — Moira dela Torre, Regine Velasquez, and James Reid — all said yes to him and his potential despite their fair share of criticisms about him.

This led to them telling Angelo to call his father to deliver the good news. And as it turns out, it was Arnel who was in the other line.
