MANILA — Over a year and a half since John Lloyd Cruz went on hiauts from showbiz, the actor known for his leading man roles has been seen to embrace a more laid-back and low-profile life, which appears to translate to his style.

In the latest photos of Cruz to circulate online, his appearance is a stark contrast to his days in the limelight, when his well-groomed image was characterized by his usual combo of folded pants, boat shoes, and sleek blazers, among others.

Now, Cruz appears to have no trace of that during a reported nature trip in Bukidnon, as seen in snaps shared on Facebook. Whereas his hair was always neatly styled and his face clean-shaven as “John Lloyd” the actor, Cruz now sports a full beard and wavy hair.

His outfit: a plain white shirt with a scarf tied around his neck, blue checkered pants, and a pair of sandals.

Since his “indefinite leave” as an ABS-CBN contract artist, Cruz has welcomed his first child with partner and former “Home Sweetie Home” co-star Ellen Adarna, and has participated in a number of art exhibits.
