Even Ellen Adarna once experienced "ghosting," or having an abrupt end to a relationship by the other party stopping all communication, the former actress revealed.

Adarna, 32, got candid about a past romance over the weekend, in a question-and-answer session with her Instagram followers.

She answered in the affirmative when asked if she has ever been "ghosted," adding that the man, whom she did not identify, did return.

"He came back two weeks after with flowers and I told myself, 'No, I was fine without you and I'll be fine without you.' I never chased," she was quoted as saying in PUSH report on Monday.

"I gave myself pep talks that I am a strong, independent, and confident woman and I do not deserve a boy like that. He's not worth chasing. I never chased," Adarna said.

She credited her late father, Alan Modesto Adarna, for instilling in her confidence and having a strong sense of self-worth, which have helped her navigate relationships.

"He would always tell me and remind me that I am a strong girl," she said. "[Now] that I am a parent... I've been reading about how you should give affirmations to your kids and how you should program your minds. It's true. I think my dad programmed me to be a strong person."

Adarna is a first-time mom to one-year-old Elias, her child with her former partner, actor John Lloyd Cruz.

"When you tell these things, these affirmations to someone, especially when you start them young, they believe it. They start to believe it and it happens," she said.

"And because I'm on the secured side, I know that feelings come and go, and whatever it is I'm feeling at that time, I know that it will pass and I'm going to be okay," Adarna said.

Adarna, who is currently in a long-distance relationship, recently shared having survived depression. She said she has also developed ways of coping with her episodes of anxiety.
