MANILA - Comedian Vice Ganda was surprised when his two brothers, who are also gay, appeared on television for the first time on Tuesday.

The "It's Showtime" host was the special guest on ABS-CBN's new morning talk show "Magandang Buhay" when his two brothers, "Emma" and "Babut," were called to join him on the set.

The brothers recalled the comedian's younger years when he was still trying to hide his sexuality from their father. The comedian had previously said that his father died not knowing that he is gay.

"It takes one to know one. Medyo malambot na siya pero we are trying to overlook everything kasi siya 'yung pinaka-daddy's boy," Emma said.

"One time nahuli ko siya. UAAP dancer kasi ako before sa FEU, mayroon kaming UUAP number nahuli ko siya na sinusukat ang headress ko na tamarraw. Pero wala in-ignore ko lang, 'di ko in-acknowledge. Pero si Babut was different, like 'umamin ka na,'" Emma added.

Babut said he was the first to find out that their younger brother is also gay.

"Ako talaga 'yung unang nakaramdam kaya nung bandang college na ako -- siya high school noon -- maasim na ako sa kanya. Kasi parang sa akin ang daya ng treatment. Ang ganda ng treatment sa iyo kasi feeling ni padir eh lalaki siya; sa akin istrikto that time. Kaya that time maasim ako sa kanya, kasi parang ayaw pang umamin eh bakla din naman," Babut explained.

The two also said that contrary to Vice Ganda's image on TV, the comedian was really quiet when he was young.

"Siguro nung time na 'yon (ang basa) ko sa kanya, kaya tahimik siya para iwas bokaya (hindi mabuking)," Babut said.
