MANILA—For TV host and comedian Arnell Ignacio, finally graduating from college at age 55 is “God’s perfect timing.”

On Facebook, the former government official shared photos of his graduation rites on Thursday. He now holds a bachelor’s degree in political science, specializing in local government administration.

“Sulit lahat ng hirap!” he wrote in one of his posts, tagging an official of the University of Makati for accommodating his schedule to complete his requirements.

Until February, Ignacio had been a deputy executive director of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration — a role he had to juggle with studies for a year.

“Last graduation ko, 1981, high school,” Ignacio added. “Ang tagal ko nag-college. 2019 ang graduation. This is truly a masteral of life.”
