MANILA — It was an eye for an eye for Ivana Alawi as she pulled a revenge prank on her mother, with rising internet star DJ Loonyo as her pretend boyfriend.

As "payback" for a previous prank where her family ignored her for a day, Ivana had DJ Loonyo as her accomplice in making her mother Fatima believe she has been secretly in a relationship for a month.

The setup: Ivana's mother walks in on her having a "monthsary" video call with DJ Loonyo, who is based in China.

The heartthrob dancer, known for his TikTok covers, was confronted by Fatima as soon as she saw the call.

Fatima, Ivana explained in the vlog's introduction, is against her daughters having a boyfriend whom she hasn't yet met in person.

"Sobra magmahal 'yan," Fatima told DJ Loonyo. "Huwag kang magkakamali. Iyan, todo. 'Pag nagmahal, ibibigay niya lahat 'yan. Lahat na. Nakita ko na 'yan, ilang beses nang umiyak 'yan. Yari ka sa akin!"

Fatima, who admitted being a fan of the DJ's TikTok videos, demanded that a formal introduction be made once the coronavirus lockdown is over.

Ultimately, she did not give her approval, and expressed disappointment that Ivana entered a relationship without her knowing.

Sensing her mother's dismay, Ivana, together with her younger sister Mona, finally revealed the ruse.
