For a Filipina actress, Darna has long been viewed as a goal. But for Sarah Geronimo, she remains dismissive donning the superheroine's rather revealing costume.

The pop star's name has been repeatedly brought up by fans to take over Angel Locsin as Darna. However, in an interview with reporters on Friday, Geronimo took herself out of the running by saying she doesn't have the figure to do the costume justice.

"Wala akong boobs, anong magagawa natin?" she quipped.

Geronimo, who hesitates to flaunt skin, earlier joked to fans who keep insisting that she succeed Locsin to prepare themselves for a version of Darna in a jumpsuit.

In explaining her iffiness over the role, Geronimo simply said someone else would be a better fit.

"Baka naman na-negative-an sila sa akin nung sinabi ko na, 'Eh, 'di wow! Gusto niyo ba makakita ng Darna na naka-jumpsuit?' Kasi matagal ko na po iyang sinasabi na hindi talaga iyon para sa akin kasi iconic iyong role," she said.

"But more than that, ang daming responsibilities na nakaakibat sa pagiging Darna. So medyo naka-focus lang din ng unti na ang inaabangan iyong naka-two piece, iyong physique. Parang hindi talaga po para sa akin.

"Pero nagpapasalamat naman ako at flattered naman ako na may mga kino-consider ako."

For now, fans can look forward to Geronimo's other projects. She said she is hard at work on her new film with John Lloyd Cruz and that she feels at "home" as a returning coach for the upcoming teen edition of "The Voice of the Philippines."
