Sarah Geronimo is hoping her project with Daniel Padilla would push through, adding she's excited to see how it will turn out.

"Hindi kami puwedeng love team dito pero titingan natin kung anong puwedeng gawin," she told reporters on Friday while clarifying that the project is still in the planning stage.

The pop star did, however, admit that she never thought there would come a day when people would be clamoring for a project starring her and Padilla.

Recalling the time she first met the young actor, she said: "Sa 'Sarah G Live' pa nun. Ang payat pa niya nun, totoy na totoy pa. Na-endear na talaga ako sa kanya kasi nakikita ko sa kanya iyong kapatid ko."

"Tapos cute naman talaga si Daniel so matagal ko nang sinasabi kay Boss Vic [del Rosario of Viva Entertainment] na sana magkatrabaho kami, pero pa-joke lang. 'Parang pabata ng pabata iyong mga leading men ko. Daniel Padilla naman diyan.'"

"Hindi ko inakala na darating tayo sa point na magkakaroon din ng interes na, 'Parang puwede ata.' Kasi feeling ko ang tanda ko na for him. Pero nae-excite ako," she said.

Calls for them to star in a project together first gained headwind when they performed a duet in "ASAP" last month.

Padilla said he would love to do a movie with Geronimo in the near future if given the opportunity.

Padilla said he went straight to Star Magic executive Johnny Manahan after their production number to personally ask if he could make it possible.

“Nasabi ko kay Mr. M na kung magkakaroon man ako ng movie na iba [ang kasama], si Miss Sarah Geronimo sana. Yun lang naman yun,” he said. “Siya na raw bahala," he said at the time.
