MANILA -- Some netizens surprisingly picked comedian Vice Ganda to be the next Darna in Star Cinema's movie adaptation of the Filipino superhero.

In a poll conducted by DZMM on Tuesday, actress Liza Soberano, topped the list of the stars who could don the sexy Darna costume. Tied at second place is Nadine Lustre and Vice Ganda, the only male to be included in the list.

This shouldn't be that shocking since in 1979, the late comedian Dolphy played the komiks character in "Darna, Kuno?"

The search for the new Darna has started after Star Cinema managing director Malou Santos announced on Monday that Angel Locsin could no longer play Darna due to health reasons.
