On Saturday, "It's Showtime" named the remaining 48 girls who still in the running to become the first-generation members of the soon-to-be launched idol group, MNL48.
On Saturday, "It's Showtime" named the remaining 48 girls who still in the running to become the first-generation members of the soon-to-be launched idol group, MNL48.
But celebrations were put on hold after it was announced that the aspirants will be facing new challenges in the coming weeks, and that only the top 7 will get to train with Japan's AKS, the talent agency that handles the mega-popular group, AKB48.

The top 7 were also promised endorsement and recording contracts, and chances to perform with members of AKB48 and its other sister groups. Following their training, they will also headline the daily performances at the MNL48 theater, "It's Showtime" said.
