MANILA -- James Reid and Nadine Lustre first met in 2013 when they did the music video of "Alam Niya Ba." But did you know that their paths almost crossed a couple of years before that?

Lustre revealed in the “OTWOL Achieved from Reel to Real” special on Sunday that she also auditioned for “Pinoy Big Brother” in the same year as Reid.

The actor was named big winner of “Pinoy Big Brother Teen Clash” which ran from April to June 2010.

“Nag-audition ako kasi meron akong friend na gustong mag-audition. Nag-audition ako para lang masamahan ko siya. Tapos sabi, ‘Okay, we’ll update you,’” she narrated.

But it seems Reid and Lustre weren’t destined to meet each other at that time just yet.

According to Lustre: “Ang tagal na [bago tumawag 'yung 'PBB']. Nasa Pop Girls na po ako nung may nag-text po sa akin ulit. I was with Viva already.”

As for Reid, he shared that he actually didn’t want to join the ABS-CBN reality show.

“Ginawa ko lang 'yung audition para lang sa tatay ko. He really wanted me to just try it. I was shy. I really didn’t want it,” he said.

When asked if he expected to win the show, Reid said: “I don’t know why I won!”

Nonetheless, Reid said he wouldn’t be who he is today if not for his “PBB” experience.

“At that time, takot na takot ako. I wish I didn’t win. Wala akong alam, wala akong talent. I was struggling. I had stage fright. I was camera-shy. The whole thing was very nerve-wracking for me. But it helped me get out of my shell,” he said.
