MANILA – Do you still remember Angelene Aguilar?

She was a former Kapamilya talent who worked with Bea Alonzo and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach in the ‘90s youth-oriented show “K2BU.” Her last acting project was an episode of “Maalaala Mo Kaya” in 2004.

In an interview with entertainment site Push, Aguilar revealed that she is now residing in New York where she is pursuing a career as a jewelry designer.

Aguilar said she left showbiz to finish her Fine Arts studies at the University of Santo Tomas.

“I was studying while working. It was hard but I’m glad my parents instilled that mentality in me. I value education so much; it’s something that nobody can take away from you,” she told the website.

Although she is no longer in showbiz, Aguilar said she still gets to sing and perform every now and then as part of the band Run of Luck.

“We perform around different venues in New Jersey and New York. We’re also in the middle of putting together an album but I wish I can share it with everyone back home, in the future,” she said.

In fact, Aguilar said it would be an honor if one of their songs will be used in a movie or TV series in the Philippines.

Meanwhile, Aguilar said she will not hesitate to give showbiz another try.

“If given the chance, Why not? Yes, I would like to do it again and I will lie if I say that I don’t miss it. I will never close my door in any kind of opportunity and blessings. So kung may opportunity man or offer, I will,” she said.

Although she is already settled in the United States, Aguilar said she still misses the Philippines.
