KathNiel, LizQuen, JoshLia, JaDine, and ElNella -- these are some of the top "love teams" ruling TV ratings and the box office today. But before these solid tandems were formed, a number of them were paired with different romantic interests, either to form a love triangle or as potential onscreen sweethearts.

On the occasion of Valentine's Day, here's a look at past Kapamilya pairings involving stars who are now popularly identified with their respective love teams:

LIZA SOBERANO AND DANIEL PADILLA

Then a showbiz newcomer, Soberano was paired with Padilla in two major projects -- "Got to Believe" and "Must Be Love" -- to form a love triangle with the young heartthrob and Bernardo, his long-time leading lady.

KATHRYN BERNARDO AND ALBIE CASIÑO

In her launching project, "Mara Clara," then-teen star Bernardo was paired with Casiño. Their abrupt end of their tandem coincided with a controversy that caused the actor to go on a hiatus from showbiz.

JULIA BARRETTO AND ENRIQUE GIL

Before "JoshLia" and "LizQuen," Barretto and Gil were billed as a love team for a time and was referred to as "QuenLia" by their fans. Their first series together, "Mirabella," was also Barretto's launching project.

JULIA MONTES AND ENRIQUE GIL

Dubbed "JulQuen" during their time as a love team, Montes and Gil were seen together in several projects, including "The Reunion" and "Muling Buksan ang Puso."

JANELLA SALVADOR AND MARLO MORTEL
