How 'Doble Kara' finale fared in ratings

MANILA -- The series finale of the long-running afternoon drama "Doble Kara" broke the show's record, making it the most watched program last Friday, according to data from Kantar Media.

The Julia Montes-starrer registered a national TV rating of 22.2% against GMA-7's "Hahamakin Ang Lahat," which only recorded 14.2%

The finale episode also received thousands of tweets as its official hashtag #DKPagtataposNaPalaban joined the list of trending topics on Twitter.

The daytime drama that aired for more than a year tells the story of twins Kara and Sara. "Doble Kara" not only shared lessons on love and sacrifice but also the every day joy and struggles of the Filipino family.

It also became the country’s most watched weekday afternoon series in 2016 and gave Montes the title "Daytime Drama Queen."

Also part of the cast were Sam Milby, Edgar Allan Guzman, Maxene Magalona, Alicia Alonzo, Carmina Villarroel, Mylene Dizon, Rayver Cruz, Mickey Ferriols, Alicia Alonzo, Anjo Damiles, John Lapuz, Nash Aguas, Alexa Ilacad, Polo Ravales, and Patricia Javier.

"Doble Kara" was replaced on Monday by "The Better Half" starring Carlo Aquino, Denise Laurel, JC de Vera and Shaina Magdayao.
