In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Thursday before show's grand parade in Manila, Medina shared how Martin helped him when he underwent a successful spine surgery last year.

"Alam mo tuwing ikukuwento ko ito ay mangiyak-ngiyak ako. Kung minsan naiiyak ako dahil sobrang tulong ang ginawa ni Coco sa akin nung nasa hospital ako. Na-operahan nga ako, dalawang buwan ako," Medina said.

"Nag-text ako ng personal sa kanya, nagpasalamat ako dahil sa tulong na ibinigay niya. Biglang sabi niya sa akin, 'Tito Pen, malakas ka na ba? Kaya mo na bang mag-taping?' sabi niya sa akin. 'Kung kaya mo na, mag-taping tayo para hindi ka naiinip sa bahay.' Kasi alam niya wala akong trabaho ng mahigit dalawang taon. Kapos lahat ang finances and everything nagpapalakas ako, hindi pa rin ako makakapagtrabaho. So ang gagawin na lang daw ay ia-adjust ang role sa kakayahan ko. Awa naman ng Diyos ay lumakas ako," Medina added.

"Mahirap kami, nagsisikap na itaguyod ang mga anak, lalo na 'yung babae. Anak ko rin si Ping (Medina) doon pero tatamad-tamad siya sa show. So ang pag-asa namin ay 'yung anak naming babae, si Lovi Poe, kaya itinataguyod namin," Medina said.
