MANILA — A clueless Edward Barber became the victim of a prank call from his onscreen partner Maymay Entrata, who drew from her acting skills as she pretended to be crying hysterically in the recorded challenge.

Entrata, the latest cover star of Chalk, took on a series of challenges from the magazine, which included speaking German, dancing to the tune of “Chambe,” and drawing a self-portrait without looking at the paper.

The prank was the final task, which saw Entrata leading Barber to believe that something bad had happened. She pretended to be crying up until the prank’s reveal.

At that point, Barber apparently dropped the call.

“Hala, pinatay niya! Hala, nagalit na ‘yun,” a concerned Entrata said, before trying to call Barber several times only to be rejected consecutively.

It turned out the worry was unfounded, when Barber replied that he just couldn’t attend to the call as he was in the middle of a game.
