MANILA—Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil, stars of the highly anticipated “Alone/Together,” surprised University Belt students on Wednesday as they casually handed them advanced Valentine gifts.

In producer Black Sheep’s recap of the afternoon Manila tour, Soberano and Gil are seen all smiles as they each gave unsuspecting students black roses, and took selfies with fans.

Among the stops was University Santo Tomas, which is also the school Gil’s character Raf attends in “Alone/Together.”

“Nakaka proud maging UST student!” Gil jested. “It was fun, hindi ko ini-expect ‘yun. Actually, I want to do this more often. It feels good.”

The rumored couple also visited Far Eastern University, San Sebastian College, Centro Escolar University, and the nearby Legarda station of the LRT.

The U-Belt “meetup” is fitting, given the story of “Alone/Together.” The film by Antoinette Jadaone follows Raf and Christine (Soberano), who fell in love during their college days.

It is scheduled for a nationwide release on February 13.
