MANILA — After more than a year on air, the hit afternoon drama Kadenang Ginto” has started counting down to its finale, with no less than an epic trailer depicting the warring Mondragons.

In the trailer released on Friday, Romina (Beauty Gonzalez), Daniela (Dimples Romana), Cassie (Francine Diaz), and Marga (Andrea Brillantes) appear to get ready for battle.

Each garbed in a Roman-inspired outfit with golden details, the feuding sides of the Mondragon family face off.

The title of the finale is then revealed: “The Battle of the Dragons.”

With the announcement of its two-week countdown, “Kadenang Ginto” is scheduled to conclude on February 7.

The tug-of-war within the Mondragon family has been the central story of “Kadenang Ginto” since its October 2018 premiere.

In a recent pivotal turn — which also revealed the significance of the series’ title — Romina finally confirmed that her husband Robert (Albert Martinez) was her unknown assailant.

The rape resulted in Cassie’s (Francine Diaz) birth, belatedly revealing her biological connection with the Mondragon patriarch.

With Romina’s stronger claim on the Mondragon fortune, and Daniela being abandoned by her family, her last card, it appears, involves simply eliminating those between her and her goal.
