MANILA – Angel Locsin took to social media to thank celebrity couple Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid for giving life to the theme song of her upcoming series “The General’s Daughter.”

Through an Instagram Story, Locsin shared a photo of Velasquez while performing “Ikaw Lang ang Aking Mahal” on the “ASAP Natin ‘To” stage last Sunday.

“Ladies and gentlemen, the Asia’s Songbird, Ms. Regine Velasquez,” Locsin introduced the veteran singer in the caption.

“Thank you ate Regine and kuya Ogie for allowing 'The General’s Daughter' to be the first teleserye in ABS na ginawan niyo po ng theme song. Such an honor. May the Lord bless you more for being so generous and so supportive,” she wrote.

Locsin said she gets goosebumps every time she hears Velasquez sing the song, composed by Alcasid.

However, Locsin also has one concern about it. “Hindi ko makakanta 'to sa mall show,” she said in jest.

In production as early as April 2018, “The General’s Daughter” was officially unveiled in November during ABS-CBN’s “Family is Love” trade event. Its first trailer unraveled a story spanning two generations and three families, with Locsin’s character, Rhian, as the central figure.

Directed by Manny Palo and Mervyn Brondial, the series appears equally packed with drama and action, with scenes depicting Rhian in conflicts both physical and emotional.
