Catriona Gray is Vice Ganda’s guest co-host in ‘Mini Ms. U.’ ABS-CBN

MANILA — “It’s Showtime” launched on Monday a new segment, a pageant for young girls dubbed “Mini Ms. U,” fittingly co-hosted by Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray.

Gray, who is marking her 26th birthday with the week-long hosting stint, forms a duo with Vice Ganda in interviewing the aspirants.

In “Mini Ms. U,” three girls share their talent, and converse with Vice Ganda and Gray about a range of topics which include a values-based question.

Gray, who has time and again impressed pageant fans with her eloquence, also ends up answering the questions, with Vice Ganda asking for a Miss Universe-worthy answer.

During the segment’s debut, Gray gave her opinion on cheating during a test, after an aspirant was asked whether she would tell her teacher if she catches a classmate copying.

“I probably wouldn’t tell, because I feel that when you cheat, you’re cheating yourself, first and foremost. You cannot go on in your life continuing that type of action. Even if someone were to tell on you to the teacher or not, I feel like you’re cheating yourself first and foremost,” she said.

On Tuesday, Gray’s wisdom similarly shone on the topic of comparing one’s achievements to others, when a candidate was asked whether she would get her sibling’s toy that happens to be better than hers.

“It’s very easy to feel bad when you compare what you have to another person. In life, you’ll see other people having different versions of success, achieving different things… You need to always be mindful of the blessings that you have, and be happy for other people. One day, it will also come back to you,” Gray said.
