Actress Sunshine Dizon on Thursday dropped the cases she filed against her husband, Timothy Tan.

Speaking to reporters, Dizon said she did it for the benefit of their children.

"We filed our desistance today. It means that we are dropping all our charges against my ex-husband, Timothy Tan. Siguro ang masasabi ko lang is, ultimately I'm a mother. It's sad that I won't be able to give my children exactly what they want. Masakit 'yun sa akin bilang ina na hindi ko na kayang ibalik 'yung dati at buohin 'yung pamilya namin," she said.

"Ang pinaka-pwede ko na lang ibigay ay 'yung gawan ko ng paraan na hindi masira 'yung relasyon ng mga anak ko sa tatay nila so that's why we filed the desistance already," she added.

The charges against Tan were for violating the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004 and concubinage.

The actress said she will soon file for the annulment of her marriage to Tan, contrary to what she earlier said.

"I also want to make it clear that hindi pa rin po tapos ang laban because I owe it to myself already to be free of all of this. So, I'm also filing na din for annulment. Marami pong bagay sa buhay na kailangan nating tanggapin na hanggang doon na lang talaga pero ang importante ngayon sa akin is ma-save ko 'yung konting pwede kong i-save na maibibigay ko sa mga anak ko," Dizon said.

"Marami pa kaming hakbang na gagawin, marami pa kaming hakbang na gagawin. Ang tinatapos ko lang ngayon ay 'yung kaso ko laban kay Tim."
