Idol groups BTS and aespa win big at this year's Korean Music Awards 2022 @bts.bighitofficial, @aespa_official

ICYMI: the 19th Annual Korean Music Awards revealed this year’s winners and they are all so deserving!

What sets the Korean Music Awards apart from other music awards is the fact that it focuses on musical achievement as its primary criterion, and also places greater importance on albums and songs in and of themselves, rather than sales figures.

Taking home the most wins this year was girl idol group aespa with a total of three awards: Song of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and Best K-Pop Song (for their worldwide hit “Next Level“).

Meanwhile, BTS won Artist of the Year for the third time. They were the first idol group ever to win Artist of the Year back in 2018, and repeated the outstanding achievement again in 2019.
