MANILA -- The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is focusing on economic growth and quality infrastructure, and disaster resilience in its new country partnership strategy for the Philippines.

In a statement, the ADB said it will help the Philippines grow by focusing on projects that will help low-income households.

The multilateral lender also said it will invest in infrastructure projects that will promote regional economic growth, and look more into clean energy, blue economy, and nature-based investments.

"This new strategy will further a flourishing collaboration to support the country in achieving a prosperous future that leaves no one behind, particularly as it faces the dual challenges of accelerating economic growth and addressing persistent poverty and income inequalities,” said ADB Country Director for the Philippines Pavit Ramachandran.

The ADB has previously given the Philippines loans to boost  tax collection and  financial inclusion.

It has also helped the Philippines with flood-control projects, and lent the country $200 million for the development of climate-resilient infrastructure.
