MANILA - Globe Telecom is appointing 39-year-old Juan Carlo Puno as its Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer, and Chief Risk Officer.

The Ayala-led telco said Puno will assume the post on Oct. 16, succeeding Rosemarie “Rizza” Maniego-Eala, who will be retiring.

Globe said Puno has been in the company for 15 years and is an expert in the fields of corporate strategy, finance and accounting, and investor communications.

“Mr. Puno has led and executed several corporate initiatives including the recent monetization efforts that strengthened Globe’s overall financial health,” the company said.

Eala meanwhile is set to “pursue other personal and professional goals.”

“In her nearly 27 years of dedicated service to Globe, Ms. Maniego-Eala has been a driving force behind Globe’s success, guiding Globe through some of its most challenging periods and delivering trailblazing achievements that have shaped our organization’s future,” Globe said.

The telco noted that Eala received the Asia’s Best CFO Award from Corporate Governance Asia’s 10th Asian Excellence Awards and in 2023, was given the Best CFO (Bronze) Award from FinanceAsia’s Asia’s Best Companies.
