<p>MANILA - GCash on Tuesday announced that it has made PayPal’s stablecoin PayPal USD (PYUSD) available in the Philippine market. </p><p>&quot;This allows users and freelancers to easily send PYUSD tokens at low transaction fees to GCrypto, the in-app feature of GCash powered by PDAX [Philippine Digital Asset Exchange],&quot; the Ayala-led fintech said.  </p><p>GCrypto users will also be able to buy, sell, and hold PYUSD tokens inside the GCash app, the company said. </p><p>Unlike other cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, which are prone to wild swings in value, stablecoins are pegged to the value of fiat currencies such as the US dollar or other more stable assets like gold.</p><p>&quot;Through this joint effort, we are creating opportunities for Filipinos to utilize cryptocurrency in their daily lives. Whether it&#x27;s sending remittances or making purchases, this initiative will allow uses to embrace digital assets as a secure and practical solution, said Kenneth Chua, Chief Business Development Officer of PDAX.</p><p>The feature is available to GCash users who are at least 18 years old and have a fully verified account. </p><p>GCrypto, which was launched last year, allows users to buy and sell cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin, ethereum and solana.</p><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/rAtIRxjGmoU?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span> </div>
