MANILA -- The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) is set to offer 'lite' loans to its members by October.
GSIS president and general manager Arnulfo Veloso said the agency will launch its Multi-Purpose Loan Lite, which will allow members to take out small loans ranging from P5,000 to P50,000.
(It's like a diet loan...this is for when you need a small amount for an emergency expense.)
The official said the loans have a term of up to one year.
"Mabilis at puwede na rin pong mapunta sa account nila agad-agad,” he said.
(This is fast and can get to your account right away.)
Veloso also said GSIS is developing several of its vacant properties for government housing.
In a televised briefing, Veloso said that the GSIS will build a set of 3 high-rise condominium buildings in Fairview, Quezon City and in Cogeo, Antipolo.
(I saw the pans, these are still for approval...our team showed us that we have sizes of 55 square meters that we can give our people. These are still for construction.)
Veloso also shared that the GSIS has already digitized almost 99 percent of its services.
Veloso says among their digitized services is the Annual Physical Identification Revalidation (APIR), which would allow retirees to revalidate their pensions through their mobile phones, saving them the inconvenience of going physically to GSIS offices.
