MANILA -- The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will ban e-bikes, e-trikes, tricycles, pedicabs, pushcarts and similar vehicles from passing national roads, circumferential roads, and radial roads in Metro Manila starting April 15.

In a statement released Friday, the MMDA said e-bikes and e-trikes will be prohibited on the following Metro Manila roads:

-Recto Avenue
-Pres. Quirino Avenue
-Araneta Avenue
-EDSA
-Katipunan/C.P. Garcia
-Southeast Metro Manila Expressway
-Roxas Boulevard
-Taft Avenue
-Osmeña Highway or South Super Highway
-Shaw Boulevard
-Ortigas Avenue
-Magsaysay Boulevard/Aurora Boulevard
-Quezon Avenue/ Commonwealth Avenue
-A. Bonifacio Avenue
-Rizal Avenue
-Del Pan/Marcos Highway/McArthur Highway
-Elliptical Road
-Mindanao Avenue
-Marcos Highway
-Boni Avenue
-España Boulevard

The MMDA said e-bikes may also be prohibited on other roads they may identify.

Those who drive their e-bikes, e-trikes or similar vehicles on the prohibited roads will be fined P2,500. Meanwhile, those whose vehicles are unregistered or whose drivers cannot present a license will be impounded.
