MANILA -- The Information Technology and Business Process Management (IT-BPM) industry in the Philippines wants its workforce to reach 2 million by 2025,  an industry group said Wednesday.

"We expect to reach 2 million total jobs by 2025 and hopefully touch $40 billion in revenue this year and $44 billion in revenue next year," said IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) President and Chief Executive Officer Jack Madrid.

Madrid said they ended 2023 with 1.7 million employees and $35.5 billion in revenue.

The IBPAP is rebranding itself to attract more investments in the sector.

Madrid also said he hopes the rebranding will urge the government and the private sector will work together to upskill, reskill, cross-skill, and right-skill the Filipino workforce to equip them for jobs in the business process outsourcing sector. --ANC, 6 March 2024
