MANILA -- The Philippines is ahead in adopting Generative AI (GenAI) technology in the workplace, according to a recent study by Jobstreet by SEEK.

The study, Decoding Global Talent Report 2024, showed 46 percent of Filipino knowledge workers are utilizing GenAI monthly which is higher than the global average of 39 percent.

“They are using AI to learn more. And I think what that is is it’s sort of the next evolution of them using Google. Instead of you typing a search term and getting pages of information, they can now just have a conversation with an AI tool and ask,” Juanego said.

Key industries leveraging GenAI include digitalization, data sciences, and information and technology, while industries involving craft and manual work remain cautious about its impact on jobs.
