MANILA -- Jollibee chief finance officer Richard Shin has been named Chief Finance Officer of the Year for 2024 by ING Bank N.V. and the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX).

In a statement, FINEX said Shin's leadership pushed Jollibee to record system-wide sales and revenue in 2022 and 2023.

The Korean-Canadian finance chief is also one of the chief architects of the bold five-year enterprise strategy to triple the business in five years.

FINEX noted that Shin was able to accomplish these after only being with the Jollibee group for 2 years.

“Richard Shin’s exceptional leadership at Jollibee Foods Corporation exemplifies the very qualities that this award seeks to celebrate—visionary financial stewardship, strategic growth, and global impact,” said Jun Palanca, country manager of ING in the Philippines.

Shin said the award is a "humbling honor" for him.

“I consider it a privilege to be part of this journey of a Filipino company that has truly global ambition and strategic intent,” he said. “It’s an honor to help bring their vision to life, not only for the company but also as a source of pride for the Philippines on the global stage.”

Jollibee Foods Corporation said its net income climbed to P8.876 billion in the first 9 months of the year.

Recently, it took over the management and ownership of the Michelin-starred Tim Ho Wan restaurant chain.
