MANILA — Just as the All Saints Day exodus reaches its peak, the private operator of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport advised that Terminal 3 will be affected by the planned water service interruption of Maynilad Water Services Inc.

The New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) said on Thursday that the interruption is scheduled for 16 hours — from November 1, 2 p.m. to November 2, 6 a.m. — and is due to repair activities at Maynilad's Putatan Treatment Plant.

The airport operator meanwhile assured passengers and stakeholders that they are ready with contingency measures to ensure continuous water supply during the interruption. It will use the water reserves from the Terminal 3's water tanks, which have a combined capacity of 3.2 million liters.

Maynilad will also send water trucks to help refill the tanks when needed. As of the restrooms, there are water containers prepared and water trucks will also help replenish the storages once necessary.

The NAIA Terminal 1 was also hit by a water service interruption last week after its main water pipe was damaged after a scheduled maintenance at Maynilad’s Pasay plant, which lasted 17 hours from 12 midnight to 5 p.m.of October 23 .
