MANILA -- Drivers can now renew their motor vehicle registration at the Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX).

The PITX said it hopes this will greatly help motorists in Metro Manila and the surrouding areas by making renewing registrations more convenient.

Last year, the LTO said more than half, or 60 percent of the total number of vehicles nationwide were unregistered in 2022.

Only 14 million out of the 38 million vehicles nationwide were registered. The agency said a possible reason for the large number of unregistered vehicles could be the movement restrictions during the height of the pandemic, which left many old vehicles, especially motorcycles, un-maintained and unusable.
