MANILA - The Cauayan Airport in Isabela will be closed for the next 2 days, as authorities assess damage from typhoon Rosita (Yutu), a transportation official said Wednesday.

The runway was not damaged but Rosita blew off the roof of the passenger terminal, Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines Director General Jim Sydiongco said.

Rosita made landfall in Dinapigue, Isabela, on Tuesday, packing maximum sustained winds of 150 kph and 210 kph gusts.

"Substantially malaking sira passenger terminal building sa Cauayan. As we speak ina-assess nila ngayon yung damage hindi lang security pati comfort and conveniences ng passengers at kung pwede mag operate," Sydiongco told reporters.
