MANILA – The Social Security System (SSS) said Friday it was manually verifying its records after a computer glitch affected contribution data of hundreds of thousands of its members.

The state pension fund said it had so far released P7.21 billion in adjustments for 154,000 retirees whose records were among those affected.

“We initiated this project to give pensioners what is due them without demanding for it,” SSS President Emilio S. de Quiros Jr. said in a statement.

Members whose pensions were adjusted in June were notified by mail, SSS said.

The manual verification of contributions spans data from 1985 to 1989, it said.

De Quiros advised members to call the SSS Hotline at (02) 920-6446 to 55 or write to the agency at member_relations@sss.gov.ph for questions.
