Maria Tan, ABS-CBN News/File" src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2023/life/08/09/20230711-meralco-meters-lifeline-subsidy-mt-7.jpg"/><figcaption>Mga kable ng kuryente at metro sa Quezon City noong Hulyo 2023. <em>Maria Tan, ABS-CBN News/File</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>(UPDATE) Magkakaroon ng bawas sa singil sa kuryente ng Meralco ngayong Agosto, inanunsiyo ngayong Miyerkoles ng power distributor.</p><p>Ayon sa Meralco, tatapyasan nito nang P0.29 kada kilowatt hour (kwh) ang singil sa paparating na August bill.</p><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img alt="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2023/life/08/09/20230809-meralco.jpg" src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2023/life/08/09/20230809-meralco.jpg"/></figure></div><p>Katumbas umano ito ng P58 bawas sa mga kumokonsumo ng 200 kwh, P87 sa konsumong 300 kwh, P116 sa konsumong 400 kwh, and P145 sa konsumong 500 kwh.</p><p>Ang bawas-presyo ay dulot ng pagbaba ng presyo ng kuryente galing sa mga supplier at spot market, kaya ang overall na singil ng Meralco para sa Agosto&#x27;y wala nang P11 kwh.</p><p>Pero may epekto rin ang muling paghina ng piso kontra dolyar, na sumampa na naman sa P56 kada US dolyar, at serye ng oil price sa presyo ng kuryente sa mga susunod na buwan.</p><p>&quot;&#x27;Yong sa exchange rate, &#x27;pag tumataas, mayroon siyang pressure to increase generation charge. Marami sa components ng bills ng generators ay dollar denominated,&quot; ani Meralco utility economics head Larry Fernandez.</p><p>&quot;Doon naman sa effect ng increase in international oil prices in the past week, &#x27;di naman directly ang effect nito. Suppliers ng Meralco don&#x27;t use oil in power generation,&quot; paliwanag ni Fernandez.</p><figure class="op-interactive"><iframe allow="autoplay; fullscreen" frameBorder="0" height="100%" id="ivsplayer01" scrolling="no" src="https://player.ivideosmart.com/ivsplayer/v4/dist/html/iframe-src.html?iframeid=ivsplayer01&amp;key=e8c22c015ca9eafa76f1e3edfa03c603&amp;spid=3001339&amp;vid=2755461" width="100%"></iframe></figure><div class="iwantbar">Watch more News on <a href="https://www.iwanttfc.com/#!/browse/Genres/News/tag_id_genres/id_news" target="_blank">iWantTFC</a></div><p>Samantala, tinotodo ng Meralco ang kampaya para sa lifeline subsidy program dahil kakaunti pa rin ang nagpaparehistro kahit malaki ang diskuwento ng mga kuwalipikadong miyembro ng Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program at marginalized sector.</p><p>Sa higit 400,000 miyembro ng 4Ps, higit 2,000 pa lang ang rehistrado sa ngayon.</p><p>Pagdating ng Setyembre, hanggang higit P200 agad ang madadagdag sa bayarin ng mga kuwalipikadong benepisyaryo na hindi nagrehistro.</p><p>&quot;That will also depend on the cooperation of the beneficiaries.
