MANILA - GrabFood users who do not show up to claim their orders will soon face account penalties amid outcry on social media over unclaimed orders, the app said Wednesday.

GrabFood allows a user to order food from its partner merchants. The rider usually pays for the order first and is eventually reimbursed by the client upon delivery.

In a statement, GrabFood clarified that it does not allow order cancellations and that viral posts of unclaimed orders are no-show incidents.

It urged customers to use the food delivery service responsibly by ensuring that their orders are correct before placing them and keeping in touch with their GrabFood rider.

"Grab continues to tighten its policies and customers with excessive no-show will soon face account penalties, including possible account suspension," it said.
