Tierro revealed having had to deal with being self-conscious, having walked into board meetings and global conferences attended by an overwhelming majority of men.

And that's exactly what she is doing at Accenture. She believes that if one is competent and has something to say, one shouldn't have second thoughts on having their voices heard. But the diversity push is not women's task alone.

"It's not just about women only, but men and women working together and achieving that balance. And we cannot achieve gender equality without men. So, we try to involve the men as much as we can because they're also mentoring women," she said.
