MANILA- The Philippines has declared a state of public health emergency over the COVID-19 threat after authorities confirmed local transmission of the disease.

The development prompted some governments to impose travel restrictions on the Philippines as a precautionary measure against the spread of the virus.

According to the Department of Foreign Affairs, here are countries whose restrictions for inbound travel include the Philippines:

SAUDI ARABIA

Saudi Arabia barred entry to Umrah visa holders, and tourist visa holders from countries judged to pose a "particularly high risk" of spreading the virus, including the Philippines.

COOK ISLANDS

Travelers from virus-stricken countries, including the Philippines, within the past 14 days will be denied entry to the Cook Islands in the South Pacific. The restriction is subject to a weekly review.

QATAR

Doha-bound passengers who traveled to virus-infected countries in the last 14 days starting on March 9, 2020 are barred entry into Qatar.

ISRAEL AND PALESTINE
