MANILA - President Benigno Aquino III has signed Executive Order (EO) No. 197 designating the secretary of the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) as the authority responsible for the security of sea transport and maritime infrastructure in the country.
MANILA - President Benigno Aquino III has signed Executive Order (EO) No. 197 designating the secretary of the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) as the authority responsible for the security of sea transport and maritime infrastructure in the country.
The order authorizes the secretary to ensure the performance of relative agencies for the implementation of the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.

The agencies include the Philippine Coast Guard, the Philippine Ports Authority and other port authorities, the Maritime Industry Authority, and Office of Transportation Security.
