It was a bright and beautiful Friday when Mariel Padilla introduced her newest baby to the world. And no, it was not another child, but her brainchild and her very own skincare brand—Vida Skin, a passion project that she has been brewing for the past couple of months.

Beauty insiders, celebrity friends, and some members of the media were treated to a launch at the Mirèio in Raffles Makati, where everyone was treated to a sumptuous lunch while getting introduced to the new skincare brand to rave about in town.

The lunch started with delectable starters and soup, while Mariel and her business partner and dear friend Grace Lee introduced the brand Vida Skin to the room. Grace Lee, who is the CEO of Super K-Beauty, an online hub for in-demand Korean beauty skincare and wellness brands, was very much involved with Mariel's process for the new brand, having traveled together to Seoul, South Korea to oversee the formulation and production of every Vida Skin product.

Both of them, without a doubt, have great skin, and have been avid believers of good products that simply get the job done. During their talk, they reminded us of being wary of ingredients that don't do our skin any good. Not to be fooled by cheap pricing, we consumers must be responsible enough to research what we use on our skin, and ensure the safety of it. And because of this, Mariel and Grace both promised safety and efficacy for Vida Skin—which was not simply rebranded, but carefully formulated in their partner laboratory and chemists in the beauty capital of Seoul.
