From her first appearance up until the recent episodes of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, Shanaia Gomez has been putting her acting talent on full display. Therefore, it’s no surprise that more people are eager to get to know her. For all those old and newly converted Shanaia fans, Kapamilya Chat was able to get interesting trivia bits about the actress via this game.

In the “Kapamilya Chat Firsts” segment, Shanaia revealed that she’s not the biggest K-Drama fan because she struggles to multitask watching while reading subtitles. There’s only one KDrama she religiously followed, and that is “True Beauty.” Typical of a viewer, she fell in love with lead actor Cha Eun Woo. “Ang daming nagagalit sa akin kasi sabi nila may pila daw. Eh, hindi pwede, ako dapat sa harap ng pila,” quipped the 21-year-old actress.

When asked about her first overseas trip, she revealed that she travelled a lot as a kid. She was born in Ireland and raised in Canada and they would visit their relatives in the Philippines once in a while until she decided to live in the country independently.

Shanaia, who has Italian blood, considers making pizza from scratch during the pandemic as her first kitchen masterpiece. On most days, though, she only whips up noodles and oatmeal. She only cooks more elaborate recipes with detailed instructions.

She loved “High School Musical” as a kid, so much so she has taken after Sharpay’s ‘kikay’ and fierce personality. But her first real inspiration, apart from her parents because that’s a given, is Selena Gomez, whom she finds amazingly kind despite her ugly life experiences. Her first local celebrity crush was Bailey May since it was the peak of his Pinoy Big Brother stint when she moved to the Philippines.

Her first job in the Philippines was a commercial gig, and she used her talent fee to buy her pet dog, who remains her best friend to this day. She added that she likes to save up more than spend.

Shanaia revealed that she had her first heartbreak at the age of 8 when her family transferred from Ireland to Canada, “It was hard for me kasi no’ng lumipat kami sa Canada,wala kaming kilala. Walang kaming family or friends or anything. Mahirap yun bilang eight years old lang ako no’n, new school, new friends, new people, new environment.”
