5 women who play special roles in the life of Tanggol in “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo”

<p>For more than a year now, we’ve been following the action-packed and thrilling journey and misadventures of Tanggol, astoundingly portrayed by lead actor and director Coco Martin, in &quot;<a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/batangquiapo" target="_blank"><strong><em><u>FPJ’s Batang Quiapo</u></em></strong></a>.&quot; But aside from seeing his palaban and sentimental side through the skirmishes and confrontations that he figured in, we also got to witness his romantic and softie facet, especially when he’s interacting with women.</p><p>And in this episode of Friday 5, let’s revisit five of the striking scenes of Tanggol with the five different women who play special roles in his journey, either to put color, spice, or kilig in his bleak and perilous life.</p><div> </div><div><strong>Mokang (Lovi Poe)</strong></div><p>Of course, first on this list is none other than Mokang. Ardent viewers are certainly aware that he had a long-time crush on her, which began when they were still kids. Since then, he had been so protective of her and so willing to do everything to make her happy, which intensified when they became adults.</p><p>They shared a lot of fond memories together, such as their cute dates and asaran moments, which truly delighted viewers. Tanggol had always been ready to sacrifice himself for her, from making sure that she was safe from anyone who would take advantage of her while working to helping her pay the medical bills of her father. Unfortunately, all his efforts to save her from Ramon (Christopher de Leon) and for them to finally live a brand-new life together were put to waste after Mokang was killed by Olga (Irma Adlawan).</p><div> </div><div><strong>Bubbles (Ivana Alawi)</strong></div><p>While he was still inside the correctional, Tanggol was able to find new confidants, and one of them was Bubbles who, from being the one to treat his wounds after getting tortured, went on to literally become his “partner-in-crime” in their missions as hired killers. Their friendship continued in the outside world as Bubbles allowed Tanggol to live with her and her family at their home, which made them even closer.</p><p>She served as his conscience since she wanted both of them to start afresh in life while he became her savior and avenger, especially when her admirer, Pablo (Elijah Canlas), sexually assaulted her. Inevitably, Bubbles harbored romantic feelings towards him and ‘fessed, yet Tanggol couldn’t find it in his heart to reciprocate it since he’s still nursing his broken heart. And they never had the chance anymore to become together as Bubbles was killed by David (McCoy de Leon) during their encounter.</p><div> </div><div><strong>Katherine (Ara Davao)</strong></div><p>Aside from being able to explore a place totally different from the world she lives in, what made Katherine’s first time in Quiapo extra unforgettable was when a thief snatched his purse while he was having a stroll. Fortunately, Tanggol was in the area and didn’t hesitate to come to her rescue. She attempted to hand him money to pay for his kindness, but he refused since he just did it out of altruism, which impressed her.</p><p>They unexpectedly bumped into each other again at the Caballero mansion during Pablo’s wake, in which he called her “mestisang bangus” after she shooed him away. Katherine immediately apologized for her rudeness and expressed her gratitude again for helping her out a few days prior.</p><div> </div><div><strong>Madonna (Kim Domingo)</strong></div><p>Her entrance to the narrative indeed brought excitement to viewers, as she was shrouded in mystery as the ferocious woman clad in an all-black ensemble riding a big bike who followed Tanggol around. And were able to prove that Madonna&#x27;s a true femme fatale as she courageously challenged him to a scuffle, which she was able to survive.</p><p>She was later revealed to be one of the trusted right-hands of Don Facundo (Jaime Fabregas), with whom Tanggol and his friends had to work in exchange for bailing him out of jail. From being a foe, he went on to become her savior, as he was able to shield her from getting killed by the police during their encounter with them. But not only that, it was also Tanggol who treated the gunshot wound she sustained.</p><div> </div><div><strong>Tisay (Barbie Imperial)</strong></div><p>And lastly, who would have thought that apart from the opportunity to earn money at a gambling house, Tanggol and his friends would also find a gorgeous damsel named Tisay? After losing to him, she pledged her luxury car as payment, which was eventually discovered as carnapped.</p><p>As if struck by fate, they spotted her one night at a lounge where she works as a singer and confronted her in front of other customers. She promised to pay her debt to them by installment and to help them in a different way, which Tanggol and his friends accepted.
