Since not a lot of people know that they’ve been good friends, it indeed really come as a surprise when Elijah Canlas and Miles Ocampo “hard launched” their romance in May 2022 through the latter’s Instagram post wherein she included a silhouette photo of them together along with the other snaps taken during her birthday celebrations. It was later on revealed that they’d been together for a year when that was posted.

In the coming weeks and months, they went on to give their followers glimpses of their lowkey yet blissful relationship by uploading some of their lovely photos together, which we’re able to collate in this gallery. From going on dates and vacations together to being each other’s “plus ones” in some of the events that they attended, the former sweethearts made sure to take snaps to mark those days.

But among the days that they were together, it was when Elijah kept Miles company in the hospital and showed her moral support as she had undergone surgery in March 2023 after being diagnosed with papillary thyroid carcinoma.

They also didn’t miss to make the other feel extra special and loved on their respective birthdays by posting sweet and heartwarming tributes for one another. In fact, his last post about Miles was when he greeted her for her 26th birthday in May 2023, wherein he posted a solo photo of her that she captioned, “witnessing your growth has been such an inspiration. i’m grateful i get to share this journey with you, camille. you’re a blessing to this world — and i’m blessed to call you mine.”

However, just like some of the good things in life, their romance unfortunately came to an end after over two years, which was admitted by Elijah in one of his interviews in November 2023. According to him, their personal issues had taken a toll on their relationship, but they’re on good terms.

Two months later, Miles opened up on their breakup in an exclusive interview with Karen Davila, wherein she disclosed that they’d chosen to leave their issues in 2023. Despite what happened to them, she still fondly regarded him – her first boyfriend and first everything – her true love.

And last May, the ex-lovers delighted their ardent supporters anew when Miles shared a candid snap of them together on Instagram, along with the other shots captured during the birthday salubong that Elijah and their friends organized for her. Just when many assumed that they already got back together, Elijah clarified in a chance interview with reporters a few days later that they’re taking things slow between them, yet they’ve been happy and doing good.

"We’re just taking our time. Doon lang kami sa focusing on our work. Siyempre, marami rin siyang work, marami rin akong work. Of course, the love and care for each other will always be there," he stated.
