Bubbles (Ivana Alawi) has bid farewell in “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” and if there's one person whose heart is shattered by this, it's her biological mother, Olga (Irma Adlawan). Just as Olga admitted their true connection, they never got the chance to reconcile fully.

Even though we saw Olga as a major thorn in Tanggol (Coco Martin)'s life and we often disliked her for her actions, we can’t judge the pain she must be feeling as a mother. Let’s join Olga in her grief and remember the fleeting moments she had to connect with her daughter.

Olga could barely hide her joy at finally meeting Bubbles up close. She introduced herself as Beng, Tanggol’s mother Marites (Cherry Pie Picache)'s friend. We could feel her mixed emotions of pain and happiness when she remarked on how beautiful Bubbles was, yet she couldn’t hug her despite wanting to.

To express her feelings as a mother, Olga shared that she had a child the same age as Bubbles who had passed away. She offered Bubbles her ‘deceased’ child's old clothes. Eventually, her emotions overwhelmed her, and she asked for a hug from Bubbles, saying it reminded her of her own daughter.

When Olga gave Bubbles the clothes, she nearly slipped up by wishing her a 'Happy Birthday.' She quickly covered up, saying that Bubbles’ birthday was the same as her late daughter’s.

As a grieving mother, Olga couldn’t hold back her worry when she learned that Bubbles' house had been shot at. She made sure to go to Bubbles' new home, unable to bear the thought of searching for her daughter in the dark.

The scene where Olga asks Bubbles if she can act as her mother is truly touching. Both are emotional and longing for love—Bubbles yearning for a mother’s affection, while Olga aches to be with the child she had to leave behind. “Mahal na mahal kita, anak,” she says, gently cupping Bubbles’ face.

Eventually, Olga could no longer maintain the facade and revealed to Bubbles that she was her real mother. But contrary to her hopes, Bubbles rejected her in anger and hurt, feeling abandoned since birth. Bubbles’ heart was filled with bitterness over how she had been neglected by her mother. This was their final conversation, where Olga repeatedly wept and declared her deep love for Bubbles. Yet, Bubbles could not bring herself to accept her.

It was too late. Olga could no longer make up for the years she had been apart from her daughter.
